Everyone should be able to access and benefit from City recreational and cultural sites, services and resources in a safe, enjoyable and respectful manner.
Please read the Community Recreation and Culture Branch’s Recreation Safety Guidelines as well as the Respect for People & Property Guidelines to better understand expectations around safety and the role we all play to ensure our spaces are welcome to everyone. In the event these guidelines are not followed, you may have measures put in place that will limit or ban your interactions with employees and/or access to sites and services.

Shinny Hockey allows participants the opportunity to participate in a game of “pick up” hockey.
Registration for Adult and Child/Youth Shinny is below. Separate registration is required for Players and Goalies.
Admission is required to attend Shinny, either with a Membership or drop-in admission. Advanced online registration is strongly encouraged.
Maximum of 26 players, plus 4 goalies. Free admission for Goalies, however they must register and get a wristband from the Front Desk.
Child/Youth Shinny is only offered during Winter Break, Spring Break and Summer Break.
Full hockey equipment is required for all shinny games. This includes shoulder pads, helmets, faceshield/visor and proper hockey skates.
